Son Real

About 14 km from Alcúdia lies Son Real, one of Mallorca’s best-preserved coastal landscapes. The coastline is mostly rocky but includes sandy areas, as well as well-conserved garrigue and pine woodland. On the agricultural estate of Son Real there are fig and almond trees, traditional dry-stone walls and herb-rich fields where domestic livestock graze. The estate also features an interpretation centre that is well worth visiting. European shag, Kentish plover, ruddy turnstone, Audouin’s gull, stonechat, Thekla’s lark. Balearic warbler, Dartford warbler, Sardinian warbler, dunnock, tawny pipit. Red-legged partridge, stone-curlew, peregrine falcon, barn owl, hoopoe, wryneck, woodchat shrike, serin.
s’Albufereta Nature Reserve
