North Coast

This route allows visitors to enjoy Alcúdia’s northern coastline, its rocky low shore and a few beaches. The excursion is recommended by bicycle. The starting point is Porta de Mallorca, following Sant Sebastià Street. At the end of the street, take Camí del Corral d’en Bennàssar, which passes through cultivated fields. After approximately 700 metres, it is possible to observe features such as an old waterwheel once used for irrigation, or the Molí d’en Cabitla, where we leave the path and walk about 300 metres to the sea. This short coastal stretch offers pleasant views where natural areas blend with a few buildings. We continue for around one kilometre along Passeig de Voramar until reaching Plaça dels Mestres d’Aixa. Continuing toward Cap del Pinar, we follow Carrer de les Veles until the Barcarès pier, then continue along the coast via Avinguda del Camp de Mar to Morer Vermell. From there, cross to Passeig Tirant lo Blanc, which leads, after about 1.5 km, to Manresa. Continue toward Mal Pas, and after around 800 metres we reach the beach of Sant Joan. The return journey may follow Camí del Mal Pas, from where Alcúdia is approximately 2.5 km away. It is also possible to reach Porta del Moll by turning onto Carrer del Molinot. Porta de Mallorca – Costa Nord – Porta Roja. A variant of the route from the Barcarès pier continues toward Alcúdia along Camí del Barcarès until reaching Plaça de la Porta Roja, where the town’s third entrance gate once stood.
