Can Castell is one of the most notable manor houses in Alcúdia’s historic center. With Gothic origins and significant transformations during the 16th and 17th centuries, it reflects the architectural renewal experienced by many noble residences when Renaissance ideas reached Mallorca during the Germanies Revolt. At that time, aristocratic families from Palma who sought refuge in Alcúdia introduced new aesthetic and humanist concepts that shaped the façades and noble spaces of these manor houses.

The building is a representative example of Alcúdia’s Renaissance residential architecture and forms part of the group of noble houses that define the heritage identity of the old town. Its value lies in the quality of its architectural elements and its role in the urban and cultural transformation of the city between the 16th and 17th centuries.
