Xara Bastion

Xara Bastion

16th-century bastion built to defend Alcúdia. One of the few remaining, located next to the historic Porta de Xara.

The Xara Bastion is part of Alcúdia’s first walled enclosure. Built during the first half of the 16th century, this defensive structure was designed to house artillery pieces and reinforce the city’s protection. Along with the Vila Roja Bastion, it is one of the few that remain today, located close to the historic Porta de Xara.
