Casal Can Fondo

Casal Can Fondo

Cultural venue and historical archive housed in a restored 14th-century Gothic building in the center of Alcúdia.

The Casal de Can Fondo, also known as Can Castells, is a notable 14th-century Gothic building that underwent significant Renaissance renovations. Located in the heart of Alcúdia’s historic center and next to the Can Torró Library, it stands as one of the town’s most emblematic heritage buildings. Purchased and restored by the Town Hall in the late 20th century, it was adapted to house the Historical Municipal Archive, exhibition halls, and the Bartomeu Serra i Martí Documentation Center. Today it serves as an active cultural hub that preserves some of Alcúdia’s oldest documents, with the city’s oldest known coat of arms displayed on its façade. In addition to its archival role, Can Fondo hosts exhibitions and cultural events that enrich the cultural life of Alcúdia.
