S’Albufereta, a Natural Reserve, is a brackish coastal wetland with tamarisk woods, channels and dunes, farmland surroundings and remarkable bird diversity.

S’Albufereta is a Natural Reserve. It is a coastal wetland with mainly brackish waters, dense tamarisk forests, channels and lagoons, small reedbeds and well-preserved dune environments. It is surrounded by traditional farmland, where birdlife is equally abundant. For all these reasons, S’Albufereta is one of the best places in Mallorca for birdwatching. Kentish plover, little ringed plover, Sandwich tern, common tern, osprey. Herons, marsh harriers, common coot, purple swamphen, ducks, black-winged stilt, Cetti’s warbler. Eleonora’s falcon, kestrels, spotless starling, pipits, wagtails and stonechats.
